1. Preheat Oven
- Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Make the Patties
- In a bowl, mix beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire.
- Form into 4–5 oval patties, being careful not to overmix.
3. Sear the Patties
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high.
- Sear patties 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
- Transfer to baking dish.
4. Make the Gravy
- In the same skillet, melt butter.
- Stir in flour and cook 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in broth until smooth.
- Add Worcestershire, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer 3–4 minutes until thickened.
5. Bake to Finish
- Pour gravy over patties.
- Cover with foil and bake 30–35 minutes, until cooked through and tender.
6. Serve Warm
- Spoon gravy generously over each steak.
- Pair with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or roasted veggies.

- Make it Moroccan: Add cinnamon or ras el hanout to the beef mix.
- Add mushrooms: Sautéed mushrooms in the gravy add depth.
