Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350*
2. Saute the peppers and onions in a skillet over medium heat until softened
3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sauteed onions and peppers, eggs, Worcestershire Sauce, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, salt and pepper, and onion powder. Knead with hands to combine well
4. Shape half of the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in the loaf pan
5. Top with the sliced Provolone Cheese
6. Spread the remaining ground beef mixture and be sure to seal the sections of loaves together to seal the cheese inside
7. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove and top with the shredded cheese
8. Bake for another 15 minutes before serving
Notes
The recipe calls for ground beef, should I use an expensive steak or roast to grind up?
No, you simply need lean ground beef. The leaner, the better. Try to find a 96% if possible, if not, settle for the 90-10.
